Self-esteem
Around 10% of participants report low self-esteem. Similar to depression, rates of low self-esteem were higher in the first survey round in May 2022, possibly as a consequence of the stronger impacts of the Covid pandemic at the time. Ages 18-34 report higher-than-average rates of low self-esteem. Low self-esteem reporting is relatively consistent across race and ethnicity, although Filipinos are at a substantially higher risk. Rates of low self-esteem are about double the average for respondents below or near the poverty line.
