This tool contains an inventory of all housing units on the island of O'ahu that are in some way price restricted. In most cases, this housing was built or acquired with some form of public or philanthropic subsidy, although regulatory and ad hoc price restrictions are included as well. Data was provided from Local, State, and Federal Agencies. Email us at uhero@hawaii.edu for full documentation.
- The following unit types are not included in the database:
- Housing that is planned or currently under construction
- Data that is low cost (aka affordable) but not price restricted
- Housing designed for temporary occupancy (for example, homeless shelters)
- Housing that is inhabited by a tenant receiving housing assistance where that assistance is not linked to any specific unit or property (for example, housing vouchers)
Our objective is to keep an accurate annual inventory of all properties that are currently habitable. Given the state of the data, we expect there to be errors of omission and addition, as well as cases where unit counts and other property characteristics are inaccurate.
